Attention!!  .  .  .  At ease.  We, the class of 1966, are trying to put together a list of all our '66 classmates who served in the military.  If you have been in the military, or you know a friend who was, please take a few minutes to tell us your Name, Branch, Highest Rank Held, Years of Service, and What Your Specialty was.  If you were in Vietnam, we'd like to know that as well.  We're not trying to get personal, we simply want to know if you were in the military and your basic info.  Don Lincoln has graciously offered to gather the information so it can be used on a web site honoring our '66 Veterans.  I can't think of anything more fitting than a site honoring our classmates who served us and our country.  J.D. Garoutte and Don Lincoln have put together a VETERANS website, you can access it by clicking the flag icon on the left.  Now click on Don's email address dlincoln1@austin.rr.com and send your information or questions to him.  And Don said, "That's an order!"

NOTE to all SOC Classes - - Don would like the names of any SOC graduate who died in Viet Nam or whose name has been put in the In Memory Program book!  There is a special page on our Veteran's site to honor all SOC graduates who lost their lives in Viet Nam or they have been placed in the In Memory Program book.  Please send the names and which class they were from to Don Lincoln at dlincoln1@austin.rr.com.  We thank you for your participation!

The album below features photos taken by Don Lincoln in Washington D.C. during the Veteran's Anniversary Ceremonies honoring 25 years of The Vietnam Wall.  The ceremonies took place over a 3-day period in conjunction with Veteran's Day on November 11, 2007.   Don was one of the readers of the names, as each name etched on The Wall was read.  He felt honored he was able to read Robert Hook's name!

Vietnam Veterans Memorial "In Memory" Program

On April 16, 2007 the name of William Victor Noah Jr. was read at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial 'In Memory' Day ceremony held in Washington D.C.  Making the trip were Barry Hosford, Don Lincoln, J.D. Garoutte, Ricky Mitchell and Ron Barker from our class of '66.  Also attending were Joe Wadlow and Bill Howrilla, two former Marines from Victor's Vietnam unit.  A big "atta boy", or should I say "atta girl", goes out to Kathy Lincoln and Judy Hosford!  They came with their husbands and stood out in the weather along side them for more than 3 hours, as well as taking most of the photos.

The weather was dreadful with freezing temperatures, howling winds and intermittent rain and sleet.  But our group was not deterred.  They were there, like everyone else, to hear the name of a friend or loved one read during the 'In Memory' program.  Barry Hosford, with the group standing behind him, read Victor's name.  That's what they had been working toward for more than a year.  Unfortunately, Victor's Mom was not able to make the trip due to health reasons.  But she was able to relive the event from all the photos sent to her by our guys.

Although Victor did not died in Vietnam, he died later as a direct result of the severe wounds he received in Vietnam.
This program is for honoring veterans like Victor, so we will never forget the sacrifice they made for us and our country.  Don Lincoln has worked tirelessly to gather information and fill out forms since he found out about the program from Ron Barker.  Finally, a long awaited dream came true in D.C.  While there, they also visited The Vietnam Wall and paid their respect to Robert Hook, who was killed in action in Vietnam.

Thank you guys for all the photos and for making the trip to honor Victor.  The last two photos are of Robert and Victor as we remember them from SOC.  Please click on any photo to enlarge it and for details.
